Founded in Berlin, autarc is a ~40 person start-up who were part of Y Combinator’s S24 batch in San Francisco. Our team consists of people in Sales, Tech and Operations, with the Engineering & Product department currently ~20 people, as we continue to grow throughout the year.
Role description
You'll join the Solar team building the core experience for solar panel installers, now enhanced with AI-assisted workflows. This team and product are seeing a serious potential for scale, currently 3 people (Senior Software Engineer, Software Engineer and Product Manager), we expect to double it in months to come. With plans for expansion not just across Germany but also in other countries in Europe and the Americas, you'll work on features/topics that include photogrammetry, 3D scan import/export, image processing, and offline-first field workflows.

- Ship polished React UIs and interaction-heavy workflows with strong UX
- Integrate modern AI models (OpenAI, Mistral, Anthropic) into product surfaces like widgets, buttons, and assistive flows
- Build APIs that connect data across systems, devices, and workflows
- Support and improve 3D scanning for applied features
- Improve offline sync and data consistency for field teams
- Partner closely with Design and Product to deliver end-to-end features
- TypeScript, React, Three.js
- Go, Node/NestJS, Postgres
- Electric SQL, RxDB, local-first sync patterns
- Docker, Fly.io, NATS
Requirements
Requirements:
- 3+ years for Mid-level or 5+ years for Senior of professional software experience
- Strong React + TypeScript and UX craftsmanship
- Backend experience with APIs, data modelling, and SQL databases
- Comfortable shipping Fullstack features end-to-end
- Berlin-based, hybrid 3 days in the office (Mitte)
- Fluent in English (German is a plus)
- Experience integrating LLM features into products
- Exposure to 3D scanning, CV, or rendering pipelines
- Familiarity with local-first data or sync engines

In order for this to be reduced, the transition towards renewable energy needs to be simplified and made more accessible. There are too few installers to meet the growing demand for heat pumps, and a solution to match this trend needs to be brought to the market.
autarc is developing the leading operating system (OS) for heat pump installers, enabling a more digital and efficient installation process for heat pumps.
Through this, autarc is reducing the hurdles to decarbonizing single-family homes and small apartment buildings in Europe, with the goal to help with the planning and designing of 1 million heat pumps by 2030.
